It was an absolutely bonkers benefit for BA to offer. Amazed it lasted as long as it did.

I know one of my banker chums who regularly had avios seats booked on 5 Domestic flights a day and would just cancel the ones they didnt take for a full free refund.

Now he buys a fully flex ticket instead!

Availability used to jump massively a day or 2 out with all the gold card holders releasing these tickets.

However, anyone who was not a gold car d holder found it very very difficult to get anything before a day out!
