Once you have freshened up yourself, buy a day travelcard at machines at Tube entry. Take a tube and get off at South Kensington. (50 min)Go to Victoria and Albert Museum it is free and you can leave your bag in cloakroom. Or stay on the train and go to National Gallery or Protrait Gallery, both have cloakrooms too.
If you get tired, have a coffee in museum's courtyard. (V and A)
Take a bus or Tube to Tate Modern. Spend there a few hours.Good options is British Museum.
You can explore Covent Garden area.
Go to Soho ( Piccadilly) walk around and have a late lunch there.
If you want to treat yourself go to Caffee Royale just off Piccadilly.
