Sjondorn It's here about the two years - Flying Blue in the section 'How can I transfer Miles within Flying Blue Family?' and it says 'The Flying Blue Family leader is the only person who can transfer Miles from the Flying Blue Family members’ accounts. The Flying Blue Family leader can transfer Miles partially or in full. After each transfer, all Flying Blue Family Miles will be valid for two years. Miles transfers are final, and you will be notified by email if your Miles have been transferred.'

It's not clear from this if the two years applies if the leader has no elite status or whether the elite status overrides the transferred miles expiry of 2 years. And the T&Cs don't make it any clearer.

And canadavid , yeah I get that. But I don't want us to transfer the miles in to his account if they then have a two year hard expiry. If we had to cancel the flights we'd lose the miles earlier than if they stay in my account. They get extended in my account each time I take an AF or KLM flight (which is currently about once a year). Hence my questions on how the family pooling works.
