Just had a one night stay here. Was prepared for the worst after reading some reviews. To be honest: we had a pleasant stay. Maybe I am very mild after a terrible boat experience from Lombok (my first time taking the boat, previously I always fly and in the future I will always fly no matter the price difference).

The lobby is nice enough, luggage was taken from the car by a very friendly bellman. The bellman was around there all the time and it looks like he is the most experienced member of the staff around there. The check in progress was not very welcoming, obviously the staff was unexperienced. The two ladies checking us in were reading instructions from the screen ("do not upgrade the guest, upgrade is already applied"). Again, the bellman was the hero here because he brought us a cold towel.

Was offered points or a welcome drink. Took the latter and shortly after that I was presented a menu for the welcome drink. A lot of choices including beer and (sparkling) wines. Asked if my wife and I both get a welcome drink: they had to ask this... But yes.

Booked a Junior Suite with sea view and we got upgraded to a King One Bedroom Spa Suite with Ocean View. Well, for the ocean view you need binoculars. The suite is quite spacious but there is no real separation between the bed- and the living room. Both the balcony and bathroom are spacious. The bathroom has it's own Spa threatment room.

There is no proper coffee machine in the room, wich I find unbelievable for this kind of room. The mini bar was not stocked. A fruit platter with a welcome card was already in the room.

The airconditioning worked fine, the room is dark in the night and the bed is comfortable. Also, the room was clean and in good condition.

The public areas need a renovation. Especially the garden is not maintained well.

We did not use the restaurant for lunch or dinner as we eat outside. The area is nice with plenty of good restaurants. Breakfast was good with a small buffet and a la carte menu. Not as spectacular as you see at other upper upscale hotels in Asia.

All things considered: the stay was allright, but not in the same league as IC Jimbaran. Nothing to complain, but nothing special.

Will add some pictures later.

HadesNL , I did not stay at that specific hotel. As we tend to stay at Lombok for a longer time a few times a year we mostly do not stay at a hotel there. Only if we are heading to Kuta. The Sire area is indeed very nice and there are some more nice hotels like The Oberoi and The Legian. In 2024 a Kempinski will open it's doors in the Southwest, wich is also a beautyfull area.
