One brand I avoid at all costs however is Springhill Suites. The only reason I would even book one is if I have 5 or 6 people total in the room. But that also means usage of the sofabed which in my experience has no support whatsoever and collapses if you put any weight whatsoever on it. Greatly prefer Hyatt Place or Homewood/Embassy Suites.
I actually like the SpringHills, primarily due to the layout. I prefer the older "teal" furniture in them though, particularly the two wedge-shaped coffee tables which can be dragged around the room. I will agree that the Hyatt Place rooms are better overall (stayed in one for the past two nights b/c Marriott's site was down..again...when trying to book). BUT the one fatal flaw with the Hyatt Place rooms is having the bathroom sink directly across from the bed. If someone turns on that light above the sink it's blasting directly into the eyes of those still in bed.
