Yes, there is security in most cases, but it generally goes fast. There may be people at the gate holding signs for flights that leave soon, but sometimes it is better not to wait with them but instead get to the gate for your next flight . Remember that the second flight may not leave on time, so you could have more time than it appears.

But why do you think baggage must be collected and rechecked? It does not. It may or may not make it to the second flight, however. If you are worried about this, fly with hand baggage only. (Or you can track your bags with the QR app---this works well only in DOH.)
