I’m wondering why BA is allowing me to now select seats on 4 flights (one booking) for free over two months out. I’m not a Bronze/Silver/Gold member. I actually paid for seat reservations months ago on one of the connecting flights (UK-US) and only went in to check the price for the return, and even the internal flights says “you can choose any available seat for no extra cost” which I’ve done and it’s confirmed. They’re all BA flights, no AA or anything. I’ve never had that before.
I have a bit of a weird history and experience with BA with a lot of free unexplained upgrades and this is adding to the twilight zone I feel I’m living in. Maybe I’m completely missing something.
You're eligible for complimentary seat selection when booking certain fare types and booking classes. Y for Economy example can be secured at time of booking. B & H classes can be secured 48 hours out of travel regardless to status.
