I signed up end of last year when it was offering 125k points + 50k Free Night Certificate. I had problem using the certificate unless it is an EXACT 50k booking (tried to use it on a 40k room.). Marriott CSR could not do it either and opened a case for this; after 1.5 months they still cannot solve the problem. The certificate is currently manually attached (according to the CSR) but the reservation is still showing as a point advance one.

Not fixed in the last 2 weeks -- can apply the certs to a stay of exactly 50k points, but nothing lower. The CSR I spoke with had no clue what to do. How can this be such an uncommon problem that they haven't at least alerted their phone reps? Meanwhile, our 1st choice of hotel has run out of award space.
