Does anyone know how much the government pays airlines for the seats for the FAMs? I can't imagine it's a walk-up F/P fare... Is it equivalent to a corporate discount F/P fare? Is it free?

I'm not sure which I would find more distressing -- the idea that the airlines might be giving these seats away for free, or that my tax dollars would be going to pay the airlines for F/P seats for the FAMs!

On the original topic, though, it doesn't seem that there's much difference between a FAM and a regular business traveler who is being paid while traveling. So, I suppose the FAM is entitled to the same perks of the FC cabin as a "regular" passenger...
