I usually fly AA but thought I'd give BA a try seeing as I am flying as a family of 4 to the UK 1-2 times a year, and I know you can combine family miles!</font>

You will not have access to the BA lounge as others have said as you are flying Y. Also dont forget that after July 1st you will only get 25% miles flown for a discounted ticket so the 4 of you will get the same amount of miles combined as each of you would get on a US carrier.
