You will only have to clear immigration at AMS, and there are only a few data points of big delays there (most of the issues are security and check-in waits when originating at AMS). That's actually a fairly comfortable connection time assuming your flights are on time. And if you somehow miss the connection, you have other options for rebooking without adding additional connections (AMS-DTW-OKC for example).
I kept looking for schedule changes on the return primarily to avoid 6+ hour layover at MSP.
My primary concern about getting a later flight via MSP, ATL or DTW is if DL would keep me in D1.
I get D1 because I am a DVT/PE patient and would layover a day before taking economy on the long haul.
