I am curious, has anyone lately gotten upgrade on top of the compensation? Or has anyone lately gotten an upgrade for offering? They may have cracked down but agents used to have some leeway in the past.

I' ve had two TATL upgrades and three N.A. upgrades when flights were either overbooked in Y or the gate agent was trying to organize seats for families, simply by offering the gate agent my boarding pass and telling them I have no problems if they needed seat. It's been a while though.
