Stayed at all of the MB hotels during covid (so keep that time frame in mind). If looking for benefits off the bat Aloft doesn't give you upgrades. The few times I stayed I was given a king room pool adjacent. Once was given a suite. Both are in total different locations and feel. Tbh if you're set on just these two then I would forgo any upgrades and head to Aloft. Sunset road is a lousy place to be I stayed for one night just to see what it was like. Batu Belig is a nice beach area and Sunset is well Sunset. Just my personal opinion. I've only been to Bali once and it was from Dec 2020 to June 2021 and am heading back next month but thought I'd share.
