Frankly, there is not much, if any, difference between Platinum and Titanium. About a third of the time, they refer to my status as Platinum when I check in.
The main benefit unique to Titanium AFAIK, at least for those based in the USA, is the ability to get United Airlines Silver Premier status for free.
I'm not aware of any significant difference in benefits at hotels for Titanium relative to Platinum.
