So true Cheri!! I completely agree. The few times I tried to "save" money for the company, the partners in town asked why I was staying at such a horrid hotel. The only reason I was at a less expensive hotel was I was trying to qualify for a promo and needed the SPG night rather than staying at the FS. Maybe working in consulting is different but all my expenses are billed back to the client. They never see the breakdown, only a line item on their bill that says "expenses." Expenses compared to my bill rate are chump change so my client never seems to be sticker shocked about the expenses but rather by the consulting fees.
