I had a 5 night points stay here recently and I was pretty happy with my choice. I got a great redemption given room rates in early June in the area. 5 nights for 185K points worked out to 37K a night for a room going for around $300 a night.
I was upgraded to a corner room. It was nice. Had a couch, a turret corner, etc. It was a large room with a large bathroom. There was a large working desk in the room. The view was on the corner of the building facing Waverly and the Scotsman Steps. So, a great view every morning and evening. The room was quiet, comfortable. The bed was comfortable. I found the executive lounge a little small with limited offerings, but I didn't spend much time there. Lots of people talking loudly.
The breakfast was nice. A little crowded in the buffet area, but a nice breakfast and good service. Its an old building, so the hallways have randoms steps in them. Annoying with luggage, but not that big of a deal.
The housekeeping staff was very nice. They would provide me anything I asked for. I had a kettle, some snacks, and a little Nespresso station. I only asked for the room to be cleaned a couple times during the 5 day stay.
This hotel was sold out when I was there. There were a lot of tour groups passing through. Mostly Americans. Some flight crews.
The negatives I found was that the couch was uncomfortable and I wished the windows would open (but I suppose with its location, the noise would be too much).
I felt that it was one of the better reward redemptions I have experienced.
