Okay, I booked it for an international departure next month and will report back on my impressions. Like so many luxury experiences, it can't be rationally justified on a dollar-for-value basis. But it's the start of a big vacation with my wife and kids, and kicking things off in as stress-free and relaxing a way as possible seems worthwhile. If it's a one-and-done, at least we'll know. My bigger fear is that we'll so love it that it will become a must-do on all similar future trips, adding a $3k+ bump to every big vacation from here on out!
