Actually, they are comparable when you are using upwards of 100k Bonvoy points/night and you live out of the country and are coming to Italy for vacation and have not stayed at one or any of the properties before. When I asked my Ambassador, she was able to provide specifics about this property which allowed me to make an informed decision.

the Pantheon is located in the city center - the St.Regis outside
the Pantheon is a relatively small boutique hotel - the St.Regis a big luxury one
common areas are basically absent at the pantheon (no lobby lounge)
I believe these two properties are comparable only because in this period of the year have the same points rate ….
to be honest, having stayed at both these properties, I find your ambassador’s suggestion to avoid the pantheon ridiculous
