The decline of good CS is sad. Had a YVR-AMS-DXB on KL metal (booked/ticketed via DL so I could use GUCs) get cancelled a few years back. Got a proactive call from a DL rep rebooking me SEA-AMS-DXB (my preferred routing) in D1, along with a $1,200/pax e-credit. Took 20 minutes on the phone, and the rep was happy that he could get me on a better routing.

Today you'd be lucky to get someone to put you on hold for a supervisor in three hours.
