Yeah I don't like this at all because of the extra click. And many I think will find it confusing (I did the first time), particularly since there is no "view reservation details" option, which is my purpose at least 50% of the time.

I'd just put this in the category of irrational IT "enhancements." Project manager probably needed a project to manage in order to justify existence.
