Thanks for that. Unfortunately at that point it looks like you're only allowed to search for one destination. For one date. Which as far as I can tell is no different from the Flight + Hotel search. I can use Flight+Hotel already, after using the Holiday Finder. But it doesn't give me what I need. I need the Holiday Finder because I want to know what the best deals are for ALL 160 tier point destinations in a particular month. I can do that with London as the departure point but not anywhere else in the UK. And as stated before, what's cheapest from London won't necessarily be what's cheapest from a regional airport if the price of the regional flights is high. It may work out much cheaper to fly on other dates where the regional flights are cheaper and the London flights are more expensive. And then you may need to look at different destinations again, to lower the cost of the London flights.
I'm still not sure I've explained it properly, unless I'm misunderstanding the responses. Yes, there are lots of individual search engines (BA Flight+Hotel, BA Flight Finder, Google Flights, Google ITA, any number of holiday booking sites, etc) But none of them will give you what the BA Holiday Finder can give you, but the BA Flight Finder doesn't cover regional UK departure points. Making it hard to optimise the double tier point offer for BA Holidays, which could get you to Silver on one holiday if travelling to a 160 tier point destination when originating from a UK regional airport.
I understand how it's possible to get to Silver from zero in one holiday. But I have no way of finding the best price. It may well end up cheaper to book a holiday from London with the double tier points, plus some random flights without accommodation or car. Some people have posted brilliant itineraries doing that. But ideally I'd like to do it in one holiday, from a regional airport. Quite why BA ignore the regional airports I don't know. If I lived in Glasgow I'd be pretty pissed off if I couldn't use the BA Flight Finder or BA Holiday Finder tool, simply because it only allows London as a departure point. Maybe people book separate flights to London with whatever carrier is cheapest or most convenient. It's only the double tier point deal, and the recommendations on a number of websites on how to best use it, that's highlighted the issue to me. Quite how they managed to find the best priced holidays from regional airports I don't know.
Maybe, maybe, the best way to approach this is to use Flight Finder or Google Flights to find the best return flights from regional airports to London. Then use Holiday Finder from London using those dates for all destinations. Then use the Flight+Hotel using the precise dates to that destination from the cheapest regional airport.
Was I thick not to think of that before? Would that work? If so, thanks to everyone for helping me through that thought process.
