Flight BA289 from London Heathrow to Phoenix departs very often at least an hour late. This has been the case since the post Covid restart of this route, looking at Flightradar24. The AA flight to PHX does not have this problem so it seems to be a specific BA problem. I am aware of the staff shortages, but it seems that other BA flights to the US are performing better. The move from T5 to T3 has not changed anything. Is there anyone that knows what the cause is of these delays? Do passengers get stuck in the queues for the security checks, is there not enough staff at the gate to ensure an on time departure, are there luggage handling delays, is it a cabin crew planning issue? I have called BA about it but as expected they blamed the weather.... .
