EasyJet does not sell connections and despite the fact that its web site uses the word "connection," such itineraries are really two separate bookings with "connection insurance" provided by Dohop.
My wife booked a "connecting" EasyJet itinerary with this Dohop "insurance" AAA-GVA-CCC. The second flight, GVA-CCC has been canceled. We've tried to contact Dohop but so far haven't reached them. What can we expect? After reading the terms of the "insurance" I suspect their policy will try to provide us with a GVA-CCC flight (despite the fact that she never wanted to go to GVA in the first place). Also, their insurance policy states this (bold added):
By entering into this insurance contract, you authorise Dohop to act on your behalf, and claim or enforce any rights which you
may have under this Connection Insurance. Also for Dohop to receive on your behalf any compensation or other form of funds
as payable by us under the terms of this Connection Insurance or from any other third party, such as other insurers, airlines or train
companies (“Third Parties”)
Am I correct in assuming that Dohop is going to claim any compensation that would otherwise be due to her under Swiss law? EasyJet notified us of the cancellation a mere hour or so before the 7 day cutoff before the flight. But I'll note that from what I know Swiss courts have different rules regarding 7 day notification vs. EU courts.
