Those of you who are advising QofS that she has no chance are citing legal theory and you are undoubtedly correct. In real life, however, the situation is different.
She does not have to prove sexual discrimination. She only has to present it as an argument and then convince a jury that they want to find in her favor -- whether or not her arguments support her case.
True, the judge could overturn the jury's verdict but that is a very unusual step.
In this case, a young, attractive, woman is going up against a Big Bad Corporation and they are going to be inclined from the very beginning to by sympathetic to her. Additionally, she is going to discuss the losses in her family and that is going help her case immensely (even if there is no valid legal reason for it).
Delta is aware of this -- or at least will be aware after discussions with its lawyers -- and will most probably make a cash settlement offer.
