Has anyone recently spent overnight inside Narita Airport for a flight connection? Any in-person information would be appreciated!
My itinerary is:
July 4 EWR-NRT arriving at 2:30pm, terminal 1 (UA 079)
(No same day connection available)
July 5 NRT-TPE departing at 12:05pm, terminal 1 (TR 899)

Since Japan has not reopen for individual tourists, I don't think I will have the choice of passing immigration and staying in a hotel.

The Narita Airport website indicates that there are areas that open 24 hours.
But All Nippon Airways tells me that Narita airport would clear people out of the airport before it closes at midnight. Would they send my back on the plane?

I am prepared to only travel with carry-on and no checked-in baggage.

PLEASE HELP!!
