I quite like the hotel because of its location which is excellent for the old town basically half way between the castle & Holyrood. It's handy for the Waverley provided you are fit enough to climb the Scotsman steps. My daughter loves it for the lounge which has a decent selection of confectionery all day. Its competitive with other Edinburgh hotels. Gym is adequate & has never been busy whenever I have been there. Its far from perfect but I've always found it ok .
