“No longer” also implies a change of policy. It has been this way for at least 8 years, and I assume since the hotel was a Conrad at least.
The offical policy is that they are exempt from automatic/guaranteed upgrades. You might still get one but you can’t go and expect one. If you want a certain room type you are best to book it.
As mentioned by others, Sunrise WVs are also a base room type but some (most?) dates need a 7 night stay to see availability.
