Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Airport
Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Airport
What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
One bed - got a very big room right next to the lift on the top floor (as specified in my prefs) with a queen, single and sofa bed
How are the rooms?
New modern HIX design, clean, but only a tiny odd-shaped table not really suitable for working. Air con / heating worked very well.
How is the exec. lounge?
-
What was good and what was bad?
Good - breakfast was quite fresh except for the typical fake eggs, pastries were better than supermarket quality, and there was more healthy stuff than usual. Due to being an airport hotel, it starts at 0400 (they said hot food would only be out at 0600, but it was out earlier)
Bad - not that close to the airport. I had no luggage, but it would have been inconvenient if I did. I was dropped off by car just outside the carpark barriers but there isn't really anywhere to stop. I left by bus but the only way to get to the nearby stop is walking on grass and then climbing a fence. Could have gone to the airport terminal, but it was a much longer walk.
Bad - lack of spaces to put things at arm level. Had to put my cup of tea and kettle on a tiny ledge under the TV as that's the only place it can go
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
11k points - I wasn't using the airport at all on this occasion, but it was a good deal even adding the cost and time of transport.
