Hey guys,

I have a couple friends who are visiting Canada for a couple weeks from AMS. They were flying originally LH AMS-FRA-YVR but it got cancelled so they got rebooked AC AMS-YYZ-YVR. They just gave me a call tonight and let me know they had a bad experience with AC.

They landed in YVR and BOTH their bags missing. expensive camera, all their clothes etc. AC gave them lost baggage claim ticket and sent them on their way.

It's been one week and nobody has contacted them, they have spend a couple thousand in replacing everything they need and buying a new camera. They need to fly back to AMS within the next week.

What can they do here... Contact CC company for lost baggage insurance? Does AC owe them anything in the meanwhile or do they continue to wait for their bags? I assume if they are completely lost, they will be compensated by AC... Anyone know the max amount? Pretty crappy way for them to have their vacation here in Canada so I feel pretty bad for them. They contacted AC yesterday with their ticket but they said they dont know where the bags are, and they dont even know if it was lost in AMS, YYZ or YVR.

Thanks for your help guys! I never check bags so I couldn't be of help to them even though they know me as the travel guy lol
