I had a trip today (connecting through Charlotte), but the first flight was delayed enough that I would miss my connection, so the AA app offered alternative flights. I changed the whole trip to be tomorrow, but then AA also booked me on a later flight today. So I have an extra flight today (from Charlotte to the end of the trip) that I'm not going to take. I'm concerned that my flights tomorrow will be cancelled, and there is a 3+ hour delay even on the Platinum phone line. I've already contacted AA through Twitter, asking for the extra flight today to be removed so that tomorrow's flights aren't cancelled.

Is there any way to fix this, other than waiting for AA to respond? (I have a call back from AA in about 3 hours, but that's after the first, unneeded, flight would have taken off.)
