Sorry, I just saw this and we are home.

I ended up not leaving the secure area because since we started on an international flight, we didn’t know (didn’t want to take any chance, even if it was .5%) if we would get hung up in any way trying to go back through security. We were so exhausted, it got to the point where we couldn’t think straight.

if I had to do it over again, I would have gone straight to a TWA hotel day room until 8:00 p.m.

We ended up delayed twice with 5 gate changes, so we spent a long boring 8 hours in terminal 5. Our flight left around 11 p.m. and we got home a little after 2 a.m. (awake nearly 24 hours. I have sleep issues and couldn’t sleep on either flight)

So yeah, for me if this happens again, it’s 100% TWA hotel day room.
