In Toronto, you have the same choices bus, uber, and of course the UP which I like. If you do park, it's cheaper here in YOW than in YYZ. Because of the focus on the issues in YYZ, fly out of here and avoid YYZ issues. The choice is yours of course. I always try to measure the gain versus the convenience and I factor all costs in my decision-making. I like the YOW-YYC/YVR route as it's an A220 or MAX and I like sitting in seats (19C/D) rather than any Y seats out of YYZ to YYC/YVR as they are all wide bodies or the A321. I am not a size 4, so I do not sit in the bulkheads on the 777/787.

Sounds as if you are coming up with a good plan. Depending on your relationship with your friend, you can be a gentleman and come up or as she is getting a benefit for the flight she can go down. As my dad always said to me, be smart with your decision.
