Same, as both a plaintiff and defendant. But I've also seen facts develop over time as discovery proceeds, and what may seem like the full story in the initial pleading rarely is. I've also seen supposedly rock solid cases fall apart once defense attorneys get involved. I'm also unclear how AA is responsible for 100% of what happened here. Ultimately, the police acted based on its investigation. AA is not responsible for the state of NM prisons, AA is not responsible for a shoddy police investigation, AA is not responsible for NM's slow courts, etc. I suspect this settles for a small amount once all is said and done.
AA has deeper pockets. It makes logical sense to make them target #1 IF the case is reasonably strong.
