So my flight was cancelled and rescheduled 24 hours later. The flight operator Avianca has other flights that work the same day, they are just connecting through different cities. I've been trying for hours to get Expedia to move the flight, though they keep on making up different excuses, one hung up me after an hour of looking into it, one told me they couldn't move the flight outside the hours of 7-5pm , and the last one said no flights were available and the hold times with Avianca are too long so they will get back to me in 48 hours.

I called Avianca (I was on hold for 30 seconds) who confirmed there are several flights they could rebook to me for free easily, they just need expedia to call them to ask for the change.

Any tricks to making progress on this; do I just keep on calling new agents until one makes it through?

Also expedia insisted that I could not change my return filght since it wasn't impacted. The Avianca rep told me it doesn't matter- their policy is if you have any major flight reschedule you can move both flights up to 8 days prior, or 30 days after your first flight. Do you think I can get Expedia to match Avianca's policy, or should I expect them not to move ground on that?
