LHR issues thermal paper receipts when you scan boarding pass after a seat change
I was upgraded yesterday on my return flight from London (LHR).
I received the email and text message.
When I boarded, usually I would scan my boarding pass them be handed a Air Canada printed new boarding pass.

Yesterday, I scanned my economy boarding pass and the machine kicked out the small receipt (pictured) and off I went.
Really slick.
Zero disruption to the flow. I wish Canadian airports had similar gates.
