Have done it many times, never had any issues crossing the border. Normally a wait of no more than 5-10 minutes at each border post. If you're taking bags then it may be easier to get a taxi between the two posts over the bridge - but they were fairly available last time I needed to do that. Equally if you're staying at something like the Vic Falls Hotel then let them know and they can help sort a transfer out between them (which if only helps with the drive from the airport to the opposing border post)
