The owner of London Heathrow & Gatwick Airport Movements has kindly allowed me to use his flight information on speedbird.online. In addition to the existing speedbird flight history (starting Nov 2020) you can now search for historic BA flight details going back to March 1990. Give it a try on speedbird.online/flightsearch.php.

For those of you not familiar with the astonishing amount of data that is available on London Heathrow & Gatwick Airports: It is a collection of aircraft movements for both airports going back decades, at my count there are around 21 million movements recorded on the site. I have applied some gentle logic to the data as I loaded it to speedbird.online. In particular I have added estimated departure/arrival times for the non-London end of a flight (i.e. lhr-lgw would record a JFK-LHR with the arrival timestamp into LHR, most people would probably search by departure date - usually the day before). I have also used some old timetables to enrich the data were I thought helpful. I am in the process of matching the aircraft registrations received from lhr-lgw against current and historic fleet details, though the volume of data means that this will probably keep me busy for a while.

Let me know what you think...
