The challenge is that they would need to release awards in both directions for your ticket to be issued, as they do not allow one way redemptions, so even if seats were released on the flight 14 days from now, maybe they were not on the return flight.
The "no one way bookings" is actually a massive constraint on their own members, when every other program that can book ANA awards does allow one way bookings.
Yeah I get the challenge but it's pretty sad that there's 30+ seats that they haven't sold on the flight there and another almost-30 seats that weren't sold on the way back; it's petty as hell if you ask me - like they're playing some dumb game of attrition against their members on what to do with the miles - "maybe they'll eventually just give up and let the miles expire" - lol
