wondering what would be considered the recommended beach hotels on the island. we will be visiting Ubud again and doing some traveling north and west on the island, but we'd like to start with a few days on the beach. considered the Aman villas at Nusa Dua, but we'd really like to have beachfront access and views. any suggestions appreciated.
Soori on the western side near Tanah Lot - although the water is much rougher so not really swimmable. Beach is nice though - a much bigger if less 'private' (although very isolated) version of Amankila's. Just make sure you book the right type of room - the beachfront villas are actually not ideal (bizarrely) - they're lower down, get less sunlight and also lack that extra bit of privacy (although not like people will be running around in front of your villa presumably - but still!). Go for anything Ocean.

Otherwise FS Jimbaran as an option.
I'd still stick with Amankila though! Why not?
