AA cxled am flights out of DFW 6/9
I need some advice on this one. AA cxled 4 flights DFW-MIA for 6/9 all am and afternoon flights. Rep told me it was mechanical but the inbound from Vegas had not taken off yet when I was notified. It is 2 hours into the flight as I type. No idea why they cxled all morning and afternoon flights.
My itinerary was DFW-MIA-PEI, 4 seats I offered to take anything near my destination just get me into Colombia tomorrow. CSR said nothing was possible, ( at this time the later am and early pm flights has not been cxled) I was willing to accept DFW- Bogota a direct, or Cali or MDE. CSR said not possible.
She offered me a Saturday flight or refund at this point. I asked to look at other options and she came back saying not possible, then said Saturday was gone would I like Sunday or a refund. I was shocked and crushed, and took the Sunday flight. She was so kind to offer an upgrade in all four seats, ufffff.
My question is, should I call back and request some kind of compensation? Obviously it isn't a mechanical issue as evidenced by the 4 other flights cancelled Friday to Miami. This was a family vacation and Covid tests will need to be completed again for entry to Colombia. Am I just out of luck or did I get a CSR that wasn't willing to go the distance to assist?
