It is simply ridiculous in this age of advanced technology that it remains "impossible" to combine PNRs. Put the challenge on a chalkboard in the hallway outside an MIT computer science classroom and offer a couple of first class tickets to anywhere as a reward. Some whiz kid will devise a solution.
If they're going to fix a problem, I'd rather they put their best young minds on computerizing RUCs and GUCs so that they work properly without agent intervention.
This would save aimless hours of reservation specialists' time.
