I am only familiar with Amanruya, so cannot do a comparison unfortunately. But when we visited there 2 years ago, we left a bit disappointed.
Housekeeping often did not come until late in the day and room service dishes took forever to be cleared. Restaurant staff showed little pride in working at the place and the menu felt limited after a few days (also, surprisingly few seafood dishes). General management never came to say hello as you would expect at an Aman. At the time I blamed all this on the pandemic but as I later read on OMAAT, the Edition appears to have had no shortage of enthusiastic and helpful staff under the same circumstances.
That being said, we absolutely loved overall design of the resort, the main restaurant and the pavillon designs in particular. Having a private pool with a good view was a definite plus in the heat of summer. My only complaint in this respect would be that the beach area, while beautful, feels cramped.
So for me it would boil down to whether you place more value on the hard or the soft product. For sheer aesthetic pleasure and privacy, I doubt Amanruya can be beat. But when it comes to service, I suspect there must be better options.
