I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was a quick walk from the AS gates unless you are at the very far end gates, to the left after security. It is right in the middle between the two terminals so not really far at all. It was a lot farther to walk from security to the far B gates than it was from the lounge to those gates and AS has been using the farther Bs (B19 or so) lately, at least for my last four flights in/out of SJC although I am sure that varies by destination. And the food was very good. I was there for breakfast and it is cooked to order. You order by QR code and it is brought to your table. Even the items they had out (pastries, muffins etc) were good. The seating was nice and the staff is excellent.
