My first visit last year was booked within weeks of the stay. It was only two nights but got upgraded to a Big Sur suite ( just more space and outdoor hammock) as an Explorist. I’m guessing the two nights duration made it real easy to squeeze me into an upgrade. Not sure if mentioning anniversary did anything.
Heading back as a Globalist Lite this year so not sure what to expect. I’m guessing if the timing is right, they will probably give it to you.
thanks for the info! we're currently booked in a big sur suite but been checking to see if regular rooms become available to save a bit on points and then hope for an upgrade. we will also be going for our anniversary. did you mention that you're celebrating your anniversary when you checked in?
