But now it seems you won’t be eligible for upgrades? Are both adults elite and you were trying for 2 elite+companion upgrades? Or just any two of the four passengers? I’m wondering if there will be a problem if the 2 adults are upgraded and then the 2 kids are technically in a separate cabin.
Just one adult has status (me), and I'm left on a PNR with one kid, so we're good. The other adult will be accompanying the other child in main cabin, and is seated next to them.

I thought about just booking as two award reservations from the beginning, but I booked 6 months out and wanted to keep us together in case of any schedule changes and keep preferred seats. Now that we're within a week of travel, I wanted to split the PNR 2+2.
