Long time since I've been able to fly MEL to YYZ so thanks for your help with this. Travelling economy (no Aeroplan status anymore), so only one checked bag but contemplating paying AC for an extra - $100 each way. Since no direct MEL-Canada any more, am travelling MEL-SYD on QA. In the 'old' days QA never charged me for the second bag when I was connecting. Is this still the case? QA website suggests an extra $100. On return flight the SYD-MEL is with VA. Travelling both ways that means $400 to take one extra bag which is steep. Thoughts? (and I know YYZ will be chaos, sadly) Thank you.
