But now it seems you won’t be eligible for upgrades? Are both adults elite and you were trying for 2 elite+companion upgrades? Or just any two of the four passengers? I’m wondering if there will be a problem if the 2 adults are upgraded and then the 2 kids are technically in a separate cabin.
If you are taking about the computer picking up the cross referenced PNR’s, that won’t happen. The linked reservations are only read by humans. The computers can’t read that. Kids in a different cabin could be considered unaccompanied, but while a possibility, I think it is unlikely. The GA would actually have to notice and they are usually way to busy to worry about that. I think three people on a PNR would definitely eliminate an upgrade, no matter the status of two of the three. The OP had the right idea in the beginning (splitting two and two), but the phone agent messed that up.
