Questions about wheelchairs and walkers for Mom

I'm EXP and my mom hasn't flown in year.
We are taking her to Alaska this summer.
Routing is DFW-SEA on AA connecting SEA-JNU on AS.
Return is YYJ-SEA on AS connecting SEA-DAL on AS.
So she uses a lightweight portable folding wheelchair for long distances and a walker to get around for short distances.
I see plenty of airport staff pushing people in airport/airline owned wheelchairs.
What happens to her personal wheelchair/walker?
Can we use her wheelchair to the gate and then gate check it and use it during our connection in SEA?
I assume she can keep the walker and just store it in the closet?
They are flying in first.

Thanks!
