I've got a 3 night stay in Vancouver next week where I have 3 separate reservations for each night. 1st night will for sure be at the Douglas. If I get them to upgrade me to a fantastic room like you across all 3 nights, I may just stay there. My JW nights are on the second and third nights and are separate and can cancel at midnight day before or 6pm the day of. I think ideal scenario is I get upgraded at both lol (but I'm only a lowly LT platinum not ambassador like yourself). I'm probably going to try both hotels given I don't go to Vancouver often.
Out of curiosity, where are you staying in Toronto? Also, any "must try's" close by? My original plan was to just have fresh sushi all the time but with news of another one on the way, that's significantly changed the plans
Well, congratulations on the little one! The next time I'm in town, I definitely need to see what the hard product at the JW is like for it to command higher prices. The shared staff really means that the Douglas is basically a JW-level experience. Sounds like you have some good corporate cancellation policies, though :-)
As for must-trys, the best food I had this trip was a customized arugula pizza with gorgonzola from Ignite Pizzeria (locations in Yaletown and Gastown). I also enjoyed my squash ravioli with prawns from Cactus Cafe. I would not recommend Nightingale where they refused to remove onion from a pepperoni pizza - I got up and left.
In Toronto, I'll be staying at the Sheraton Centre, St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, and Westin Harbour Castle. I'm excited about each - for different reasons, of course.
