I think the qualifier should be while the CDC requires proof of negative covid test or documentation of recovery from covid. It serves no useful purpose at this time unless you want to discourage international travel. I cringe when I hear the term "follow the science" when this issue is being discussed - the decision is now political as the administration is unwilling to change the status quo for fear of blowback.
